# User Flow

The interaction between the Partner and VIDA User interfaces for identity verification involves several steps.

The Partner backend invokes the Identity Verification API, where the partner sends the user information (email, mobile, and demographic details) to the VIDA backend to start the identity verification flow.

The VIDA backend then verifies the user data, checking that the email address and phone number are valid, and that the government ID number (known as govid or NIK) is verified with authoritative sources to ensure its authenticity. If the verification process is successful, VIDA generates a kycEventId and sends it to the Partner backend.

Next, VIDA sends an email to the user with instructions on how to start the identity verification process. The user is required to check the received email and click on the provided link. This opens the VIDA web page, which displays the user's details that need to be verified and corrected if required. The user may also be required to add additional details during the identity verification journey before submitting the request.

Once the user has submitted the request, VIDA validates the identity attributes and completes the identity verification process for the user. VIDA sends a webhook notification with the verification status (approve/reject) to the Partner backend. These webhook messages are invoked for various states as described in the Webhooks section.

Finally, VIDA sends an email to the user email address, informing them of the outcome of the identity verification process. Additionally, the VIDA backend sends a status update to the VIDA web page, completing the interaction between the Partner and VIDA User interfaces.

Overall, this process ensures that the user's identity is verified securely and efficiently.
