# Webhooks

The identity verification involve multiple steps, such as comparing user information to authoritative source records and checking for liveness in a selfie. These steps can take varying amounts of time to complete, and the overall process may not be instantaneous. 

By using webhooks, the user's system can receive updates on the status of the verification process as soon as each step is completed, rather than having to repeatedly poll for updates. This allows for more efficient and streamlined communication and reduces the need for manual checking on the status of the verification request. 

Additionally, webhook can trigger certain actions in your system after the verification process is done.

### Configuring Webhooks
